Fitness apps had already become a popular way to train, and now there are even more workouts to choose from, right there in the palm of your hand. We’ve been demoing them all — boot camp, strength training, cycling, boxing, swimming, and more — and with gyms partially reopened, you can also take these workouts to go! SoulCycle, Rumble, Pure Yoga, and all the other boutique brands in the Equinox family (including all the Equinox classes) are here together on the Variis app. Whether you want to box, ride, stretch, or meditate, the most popular fitness instructors are on the app to recreate your favorite classes at home.
NIKE TRAINING CLUB
Yoga, Cardio, Strength, Mobility, and more – Nike Training Club offers a full range of workouts designed by Nike’s roster of Master Trainers. Browse by category, body part, time, and fitness level. Workouts are easy-to-follow with an automatic countdown timer and video demo of each exercise. NTC also offers exclusive workouts with super-fit celebrities like Kevin Hart, Jessie J, Ellie Goulding — and star Nike athletes like Serena Williams, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Simone Biles. This is one of the few apps with free workouts (excluding some premium content).
Fitplan features a roster of some of the most popular trainers from around the world, as well as athletes like NFL star Ron Gronkowski, bodybuilder and actor Mike O’Hearn, and even Alex Rodriguez (as in Arod). The app is beautifully designed, and easy to use, with video demos and a fun user interface that lets you customize the workout reps and sets.
Trion is a revolutionary new training app that uses AI technology to tailor design a workout for each user. Simply input your vitals, and baseline strength and mobility levels. With that information and over 750 exercises, Trion can generate and customize 1 billion workouts, delivered across multiple training disciplines, based on user ability, progress, and enjoyment.
Whether or not you own a Peloton Bike or Treadmill, you can still have access to the full roster of Peloton Cycling, Running, Bootcamp, Yoga, Stretching, and Meditation classes, all on the Peloton app.
SWEAT WITH KAYLA
Australian trainer Kayla Itsines is a social media phenom with over 12.7 million Instagram followers, with her devotees posting before and after transformation pictures. Along with workouts, the app also features meal planning, activity logs, and a massive community of other followers for support and inspiration.

THE 7-MINUTE WORKOUT APP
In May of 2013, The New York Times featured the The Scientific 7-Minute workout, based on the theory that just 7 minutes of high-intensity circuit training was all the exercise we needed a day. It prescribed 12 exercises deploying body weight only, performed in 30-second intervals of maximum effort, which scientific evidence proved were the equivalent of a long run and weight lifting session.
