COSTA BRAZIL AT HUDSON YARDS
Costa Brazil, the Amazon-sourced beauty brand by Francisco Costa, has just opened their first Flagship Store at Hudson Yards in New York City. This spacious location invites shoppers and passers-by to experience the essence and spirit of Costa Brazil in an evocative and immersive environment.
Costa Brazil was created when Francisco Costa left Calvin Klein in 2016, after 13 years as the brand’s Creative Director. A native of Brazil, Costa returned to his homeland and found himself deep within the rainforest of the Amazon — not on the luxury cruise he had originally planned with friends — but with an indigenous tribe called the Ywanawas. It was here he discovered the powerful therapeutic ingredients that are the essence of Costa Brazil products: mineral-rich Kaya; antioxidant-packed Cacay; and the aromatic Breu.
The Flagship Store offers the full range of Costa Brazil products, spanning skin and haircare, fragrance and home, while also debuting two exclusive products: detoxifying and energizing Breu Soap Bar, and hand-crafted Breu Incense. This comprehensive assortment allows visitors to fully engage with the brand’s holistic approach to beauty and well-being rooted in nature.
The store also serves as a dynamic hub for community and cultural engagement, including conversations with artists, collaborators, and members of the brand’s extended community. These gatherings look to foster dialogue around creativity, craftsmanship, and the unique ingredients and formulations that define Costa Brazil.
The space was developed in close collaboration with creative partner Alexander May, whose role extends across spatial conception, curation, and execution. Designed to feel warm, intimate, and lived-in, the space features a curated mix of Costa’s personal objects and books, alongside Brazilian design sourced from leading galleries, including Bossa Gallery and AALVO Gallery.
The fully open facade further enhances accessibility and engagement, dissolving the barrier between interior and exterior to create a welcoming yet intriguing presence. “We created this space to invite guests to slow down and experience the rituals that define Costa Brazil, rituals that ground us and help us reconnect with nature. It reflects how we live, in connection with nature, with ourselves, and with our senses. With this space, we’re sharing that world with our community as an expression of the Costa Brazil lifestyle.”
