SEIKO 5 SPORTS WATCH, THEN AND NOW
Seiko 5 Sports celebrates its 55th anniversary with a Limited Edition re-creation of the first Seiko 5 Sports watch from 1968, in addition to three other watches that pay homage to the designs and colors of the 1969 collection.
Distinguishing details of the original have been retained for a vintage feel, updated for more modern functionality. The resemblance to the original bracelet, for example, is readily apparent, yet tailored for everyday use. The original Seiko 5 Sports logo has been revived at the 12 o’clock position and the word “SPORTS” appears at 6 o’clock. The case back is marked with “Limited Edition” and the serial number.
The new Limited Edition comes in a special box that features the same logo and color scheme as the original, and evokes the time when the first Seiko 5 Sports watch was born.
The celebration continues with three watches in the SKX Sports Style that pay tribute to the 1969 Seiko 5 Sports collection. The three mirrror the most popular colorings from Seiko 5 Sports history, each with a bezel insert that closely follows the 1969 design.
With the creation of these new designs and collection, this iconic timepiece lives on.
