DEREK LAM 10 CROSBY AT ATHLETA SOHO
Last night the much anticipated collaboration between Derek Lam 10 Crosby and Athleta made its debut at the new Athleta Soho store in NYC. With the booming “athleisure” trend and explosive growth of women’s activewear, Athleta and Derek Lam 10 Crosby saw the opportunity to create a collection that incorporates Lam’s design aesthetic with Athleta’s technical fabrics and fitness expertise. Combining fashion with performance, the result is a minimal but fun, stylish but functional collection of athletic apparel that easily makes the transition from the gym to all day wear.
This is the first designer collaboration for Athleta who saw Derek Lam as the perfect partner to create a lifestyle collection that transcends the gym. Color blocked leggings and tops, oversized striped cashmere sweaters, leather hoodies and track pants, and layered sweatshirts are few of the signature pieces. Said Athleta President Nancy Green to Style Of Sport, “I wanted to do a collaboration with a designer as extremely talented as Derek, and create something that didn’t exist out there.”
