CLOCKWISE TOP LEFT: STOREFRONT OF TOMMY BOWERS SKI; FUSALP JACKETS; ORTOVOX “ROCK & WOOL” SHORT MERINO LEGGINGS; EISBAR SKI HATS; E11 WOMENS “RAPIDE” DOWN VEST
Nestled in Solaris Plaza in Vail, Colorado, is one of the best ski shops we’ve ever seen. Everyone knows Moncler, and maybe Authier and Kjus, but Tommy Bowers Ski also carries the most incredible selection of other ultra chic European ski and outdoor brands, rarely seen here in the US. The store is filled with jackets, pants, hats and base layers of French, Italian, Austrian, Swedish, German, and Swiss lines like Fusalp, Duvetica, Frauenshcuh, E11, Ortovox, Eisbar and Kru. While the look is more apres-ski in St.Moritz than rippin’ it up in the Rockies, these are all technical pieces — warm, breathable and weatherproof — and ready to perform if you are!

Owners Lee Keating and husband Tom Bowers, a former ski racer, are based in Aspen where they also own Performance Ski that carries many of the same brands. If you’re in town for the World Championships or are heading to Vail or Aspen for Spring Break, be sure to check out both shops while you’re there!
