Around this time of year, as kids are getting out of school and gearing up for their summer vacations, I grow nostalgic for camp. My sister and I went to Camp Se-Sa-Ma-Ca in Raymond, NH, near to Lake Winnipesauwkee, where we bunked in cabins in the woods, the ceilings of which were carved with the name and year of every camper who had ever stayed there before us. We filled our camp trunks from a checklist of “What-to-Bring”, each item seemingly with the word “warm” or “sturdy” in front, ready for any outdoor adventure the summer would bring.
While all the modern hi-tech gear might be more functional, you can’t beat the old school camper style. It warms the heart to see it’s all still around, from the original brands and new ones too. Some things never go out of style. Although we can’t spend our summers at camp anymore, we can still have all the gear and cozy classics that remind us of all the fun we had.
