The Smart Set

3 NEW SMARTWATCHES:
SAMSUNG GEAR S2, MOVADO MUSEUM SPORT MOTION, TAG HEUER CONNECTED

The Apple Watch gave a new face to wearable technology, creating a beautifully designed timepiece that doubles as a mini, albeit limited, wrist computer. It has inspired a smart looking set of new smartwatches, integrating smartphone technology and biometric tracking into a wristwatch. The Samsung Gear S2, Movado Museum Sport Motion, and Tag Heuer Connected are 3 of the hot new smartwatches to hit the market. As opposed to looking like high-tech gadgets, however, these three smartwatches could be mistaken for traditional watches, their faces deceptively camouflaging the state of the art functionality just beneath the surface.

SAMSUNG GEAR S2 $249. With its stylish design and selection of customizable watch face designs, from sleek modern to classic chronograph, the Samsung Gear S2, is the smartwatch for any occasion. The circular face and bezel let you dial effortlessly between functions, and once paired with a compatible Android phone, 3G connectivity lets you call, text, email and receive notifications, even when your phone isn’t nearby. Built-in wireless charging keeps the Gear S2 powered up with a wireless charging dock. Available in a variety of different wristbands.

MOVADO MUSEUM SPORT MOTION $995Marrying iconic Movado design with smart technology, Movado Motion timepieces infuse Swiss made elegance into wearable technology. Clean analog dials feature a date indicator subdial that tracks daily activity and sleep goals when the watch is connected to a compatible Android (4.4.3+) or iOS (8+) smartphone or tablet. With its clean and modern design, this sporty timepiece looks great anywhere. Shown here with a perforated rubber strap, it is also available in silver and black stainless steel.

TAG HEUER CONNECTED $1500. The Swiss craftsmanship of TAG Heuer meets smartwatch technology with the Connected. The first Google smartwatch powered by Intel, the TAG Heuer Connected is built on the latest release of Android Wear with thousands of apps available at the Google Play store. It is also iOS compatible. The design was inspired by the iconic Carrera line, and the price tag reflects its premium materials such as a titanium case and a 46mm sapphire crystal display with 240ppi resolution (just shy of the Apple Watch’s 290ppi). Wind and weather monitoring, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a microphone for voice commands are other features, and it is available in in seven colors.
